Po appeared on BBC TV for the first time.Since then, the Teletubbies have become a worldwide hit; screened in 120 countries, translated into 45 languages, and with related sales topping 1 billion US dollars (£509 million).To celebrate 10 years of success, Teletubby events are taking place worldwide; in the USA and in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, and
China later this year.Hollywood’s “A List” literally embraced the cuddly characters; Britney Spears was pictured hugging a Teletubby on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.Big screen star Angelina Jolie went Teletubby shopping for her children and Johnny Depp said his family were big fans of the programme.The Teletubbies have also been spoofed on The Simpsons, Saturday Night Live, the Scary Movies series and The Vicar Of Dibley.To help celebrate the milestone, BBC Worldwide has released Happy Birthday, a two-disc collection of the 10 most popular episodes and the top 10 Teletubby moments as voted for by the readers of Mother And Baby magazine.The Teletubbies will also be joining some of CBeebies best loved characters to make their
UK stage debut at CBeebies Live! the musical stage show spectacular which begins on December 11.By

Wow my kids liked them a little but for 10 years to have passed! My sister desided that they where really evil and had hidden messages so would not allow her kids to watch it! That says more about her mind than the tubbies!
